*update*turns out with a new contract the sim card is pre activated and works just fine and all my problems came from trying to follow the instructions they sent with said sim
being that i just recently upgraded to not being a caveman and having a phone my simcard arrived today
just gotta activate it... how hard can it be
just gotta type in my number and they’ll send me a code by text wich i can then use to log in to my account
they’ll send me a text... to the number wich wont activate untill after i use said text to activate it... but wont recieve texts before its activated
fucking genius.... we dont all conveniantly have old phones to work from you know...(well ok... that might actually just be me nowadays...but fuck me)
and the link they sent me as back up by email doesnt work and the only way to get another one sent is to call the helpdesk.... wich shut up shop for the day 20 minutes ago

says the link isnt active yet try again in 10 seconds..if its still doesnt work call help desk
been trying that for the last 30 minutes....lol

I’ve often been in the same boat because I usually wait until my phone breaks before replacing it. Lucky for me they break pretty often, so I’ve been able to keep up with the times.

Sign up for an extra number through a service like Google Voice or TextFree. You’ll be able to receive texts through each of those apps as long as you can get your phone on wifi. Problem solved.

phone is on wifi..still updating for the moment (in a rare moment of clarity i taped my wifi password in to the cupboard)
will attempt that if the phone gets done updating and what not before i go to bed.. if it doesnt help desk might be my safest bet as i have no idea what im doing

welp that was stupid... all i had to do was ignore all the instructions for activating the sim and just use it... new contracts send the sim out pre activated... but with the instructions for replacing an old sim :S
welp fuck it.. it works
